Oatmeal 1

When using powder for infant formula

    • 1 dl oatmeal
    • 1.5 dl cold water
    • ½ teaspoon fat
    • 1 dl ready-mixed breast milk substitute
    • 1 tbsp fruit puree e.g. strawberry puree

    Oatmeal 2

      When using ready-mixed infant formula

      • 1 dl oatmeal
      • 1.5 dl water
      • ½ teaspoon fat
      • 1 dl ready-mixed breast milksubstitute
      • 1 tbsp fruit puree, e.g. strawberrypuree

      Instructions

      • Put water and oatmeal in a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
      • Turn down the heat and let the porridge cook for 2-3 minutes while stirring in the pan.
      • Turn off the heat. Stir fat and infant formula into the porridge (powder or ready-mixed).
      • Pour the porridge into a small bowl and check that it has the right eating temperature before giving it to the baby.
      • Server with a little fruit puree to sweeten the taste.

      Notes

You can also make this porridge from millet flakes. You can add frozen berries that you cook with from the start, see more about frozen berries page 100. The porridge is done when you can mash the berries with a fork. You can also use fresh strawberries or other fresh berries that you mash with a fork and add to the finished porridge.
